IBM System Information Center, a ThinkVantage™ Technology, collects information on hardware, software, client security levels, operating system and network. The Web-based interface makes it easy to access information, track assets and generate reports. IBM System Information Center also supports non-Lenovo systems to provide a complete solution for any type of business.
If you use IBM System Information Center (ISIC) and have ComputraceComplete — an asset tracking and theft recovery solution from Absolute Software, Inc. — on the PCs managed by ISIC, you can use the Absolute Software plug-in to provide Computrace information to ISIC. For new and current users of ComputraceComplete, the plug-in can be downloaded from the Absolute Software Web site. The plug-in also supports the new Computrace BIOS-based agent (available in select ThinkPad models) as well as the standard Computrace Agent. The Computrace BIOS-based agent provides superior security over tracking software that is installed only on the hard drive. Once the ComputraceComplete or ComputracePersonal service is activated, it will reinitiate even if the hard drive is reformatted or replaced. If you would like to secure your ThinkPad with the ComputraceComplete solution, it can be purchased through your standard Lenovo fulfillment channels.
