The airbag-like Active Protection System** provides unique data protection on ThinkPad T Series mobile workstations. Using an integrated, user-configurable motion sensor, it safeguards your valuable data by continuously monitoring your ThinkPad notebook and temporarily stopping the hard drive to help prevent some hard drive crashes when a fall or similar event is detected - providing up to four times greater impact protection than systems without this feature. In addition, the ThinkPad HDD Shock Absorber provides impact protection from crashes that could occur when setting the notebook on a hard surface while in use, providing 30% more protection than the system case alone³⁸.

An extensive independent software vendor testing and certification process verifies that your ThinkPad mobile workstation can run some of the most demanding, graphics-intensive workstation applications, such as CATIA® from Dassault Systemes, Unigraphics® from EDS, and SOFTIMAGE®|XSI® and SOFTIMAGE|3D from Softimage Co., a subsidiary of Avid Technology, Inc.
