ServicePac for Enhanced Installation plus Data Migration is an onsite service that can help you get your IBM ThinkPad or NetVista computer up and running quickly and efficiently. It can give your new computer the look and feel of the old computer with immediate access to your important data files.
An IBM representative will visit your location to:
- unpack, inspect, and conduct system inventory
- verify your system configuration
- setup and connect the system unit, monitor, mouse, keyboard, local printer, and communications network cable
- perform functionality test; bring up the operating system screen
- enter the TCP/IP address provided by you
- verify network logon screen
- remove packaging
- disconnect, pack and relocate your existing hardware system within the immediate installation location
- perform data migration.
Data migration is performed using the pre-requisite IBM Data Migration tool kit(s), copying up to 600MB of data and personality and connectivity settings from the old system to the new system.
