What is new in this Version?
This version has been updated to reflect the latest new technologies for notebook and desktop PCs. This version includes new modules on virtualization technology, dual-core processors, the latest Intel desktop and mobile processors, Extended Memory 64 Technology (EM64T), AMD mobile and desktop processors, new desktop chipsets (Intel 945PL), CardBus Plus, FireWire 800, Intel Active Management Technology (Intel AMT), SATA300, DVI-I Connection Adapter, HDD Protection Pack, new ThinkVision monitors, new ThinkVantage Technologies, and updates reflecting the transition from IBM to Lenovo.

Students will learn the different types of memory, such as caches, DDR2, and how memory affects performance.

Students will learn about PCI Express, ExpressCard, Mini Card, and CardBus bus architectures, along with the latest mobile and desktop chipsets.

Students will learn the latest disk technologies, such as EIDE and Serial ATA.
