What are the benefits of this course?
Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to use LANDesk Management Suite for ThinkVantage Technologies to effectively discover and manage client systems throughout a corporate network, including taking inventory of systems, deploying operating systems and software, and administrating integrated ThinkVantage Technologies. This course prepares the student for the advanced LANDesk technical course and the Certified LANDesk Administrator (CLA) certification.
Who should take this course?
Any IT Professionals considering automating IT processes such as configuration management, inventory management, remote problem resolution, software distribution, OS imaging, PC migration, backup/restore, and software license compliance would benefit from this course. IT professionals involved in deploying (rolling out) ThinkVantage Technologies, Lenovo 3000, ThinkCentre, and ThinkPad systems (and is involved in creating and maintaining the images loaded on those systems) should take this course.
What are the course, skills, or knowledge prerequisites?
(Students must meet the prerequisites in order to fully achieve the course learning objectives.)
Students should have administrative level skills in Microsoft Windows 2003 Server and Windows XP, as well as end-user level skills in networking and computer architecture.
Understanding of the role of ThinkVantage Technology software and in-depth knowledge of one or more of the ThinkVantage products
Mandatory completion of the Web-based courses: TXW15: Introduction to ThinkVantage Technologies: Wireless; TXW16: Introduction to ThinkVantage Technologies: System Management and Recovery
Recommended completion of instructor-led courses: TXI06: ThinkVantage ImageUltra Builder Workshop ; TXI08: ThinkVantage Rescue and Recovery with SMA Workshop ; TXI21: Implementing and Securing a Wireless LAN
Ability to use LANDesk Management Suite for ThinkVantage Technologies to enhance desktop management capabilities
