What is new in this Version?
The course has been updated with the newest version of AC 3.73 and also current information concerning EAP-FAST.
What are the benefits of this course?
Students will learn how to install, configure, secure, and troubleshoot 802.11a and 802.11b WLANs. This training also covers implementing certificate-based and LEAP-based security to protect the WLAN using Cisco technology and Microsoft Windows technology. Course is part of TVT Qualification program.
Who should take this course?
Any IT professional involved in deploying 802.11a and/or 802.11b WLANs who is concerned about how to properly protect those WLANs from intrusion should take this course. This course is also appropriate for any service professional who needs to understand a WLAN's components and how to troubleshoot them. Students are required to take this course prior to TZI21 in TVT Qualification program.
What are the course, skills, or knowledge prerequisites?
(Students must meet the prerequisites in order to fully achieve the course learning objectives.)
Students should have a basic understanding of WLAN technology (basic radio theory, for example) and have a working knowledge of ThinkPad and NetVista systems, such as card insertion and replacement, and software installation.
Students must complete the Web-based course Introduction to ThinkVantage Technologies: Wireless (TXW15)
Understand and be able to articulate the features and benefits of the WLAN products and partner products

Skills required to install and configure WLAN client hardware and software

Skills required to install and configure Intel and Cisco access points and integrate them into an existing LAN

Understand and implement strong authentication using LEAP or EAP (802.1x) to secure the WLAN

Troubleshoot a failing WLAN to determine root cause and required action
|
