What are the benefits of this course?
This class is conducted in Spanish using the English materials from TXW02. Students will learn the latest PC architecture terminology and concepts. The course discusses the current implementations of each subsystem and how they interact to affect performance.
Who should take this course?
This course should be taken by systems engineers, technical marketing representatives, consultants, help desk and other support personnel, and anyone else who seeks in-depth knowledge of PC architecture and design.
What are the course, skills, or knowledge prerequisites?
(Students must meet the prerequisites in order to fully achieve the course learning objectives.)
Students should have a solid technical background in computer hardware and software. We recommend the online introductory version of this course, PC Basics (MXW01).
Students must meet the prerequisites in order to fully achieve the course learning objectives.
Students will learn the key features of Intel PC processors including Pentium 4, Xeon, and Itanium, including the packing and processor structure

Students will learn the different types of memory, such as SDRAM, DDR-SDRAM, Rambus RDRAM; various error-correcting implementations.
|
|
Students will learn the latest bus architectures, such as PCI, PCI-X, and InfiniBand; the latest chipsets used in computers will also be examined.
|

Students will learn the latest disk and storage terminology including SCSI, network attached storage (NAS), and storage area networks (SANs).
|
|
Students will gain an understanding of the types and important features of mobile and desktop computers and server systems.
