Lenovo Olympic Partner logo Worldwide Partner of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Torch Relay
On April 26th, 2007, the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG) in the presence of the International Olympic Committee, unveiled the Lenovo-designed Beijing 2008 Olympic Torch and announced Lenovo’s role as a Worldwide Partner for the Olympic Torch Relay. As a Worldwide Partner, Lenovo will play a critical role in supporting the torch's progress around the world and throughout China, presenting an opportunity to introduce or reintroduce Lenovo to people worldwide. The Worldwide Partners for Beijing 2008 Olympic Torch Relay are: Lenovo, Coca-Cola and Samsung. They are the highest tier sponsors of sponsorship program for Beijing 2008 Olympic Torch Relay and are granted a series of marketing rights and benefits related to the torch relay.

Lenovo to recommend ‘New Thinkers’ to participate in Beijing 2008 Olympic Torch Relay
Lenovo is conducting a global search for 'new thinkers' to participate in the China portion of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Torch Relay. During the month of September, visitors can register to enter the torchbearer search by submitting a 50-word essay in English, explaining "What makes you a New Thinker for a New World?" At the end of September, 20 entrants from around the world will be selected to create and submit videos showcasing how they exhibit the Olympic ideals as well as new thinking. Visitors will get to vote, and the top three vote-getters will be selected to be torchbearers during the torch relay in China.

Olympic Torch Relay route
Validated by IOC, the Olympic Flame will be lit in Olympia, Greece according to tradition on March 25, 2008. From March 25 - 30, the Torch Relay will travel across Greece, ending at the Panathinaiko Stadium, the site of the first modern Olympic Games in 1896. After the handover ceremony in the stadium, the Olympic Flame will arrive in Beijing on March 31, 2008. In Beijing, a ceremony will be held for the arrival of the flame into China and Beijing 2008 Olympic torch relay will commence.

Online Auction of Olympic Torch-Themed Notebook PCs will support Lenovo Hope Fund Partners
To mark the six-month countdown to the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, Lenovo will launch an online philanthropic program featuring a series of back-to-back, week-long auctions in 13 countries around the world. Several of the limited-edition "Cloud of Promise"-themed notebooks will be autographed by Lenovo Champions, and 100% of the proceeds will be distributed through the Lenovo Hope Fund.
