YANG Yuanqing

Yang Yuanqing is chairman of the board of Lenovo Group Limited. Prior to assuming his current position, he was the president and chief executive officer of Lenovo. Mr. Yang joined Lenovo in 1989 and became CEO in 2001. Under his leadership, Lenovo has been China's best-selling PC brand since 1997. In 1999, Lenovo ranked as first in PC sales in Asia-Pacific (excluding Japan) and has maintained this position ever since.
Mr. Yang has been named by BusinessWeek magazine as one of the "Stars of Asia," and has been selected by the Chinese media as one of China's "Ten Star Entrepreneurs" and "Ten Most Valuable Managers." He was also named by CCTV as a "Man of the Year" in 2004. He holds a master’s degree from the Department of Computer Science at the University of Science and Technology of China. Mr. Yang is also a member of the National Youth Association Committee, director of China's Entrepreneurs’ Association, a guest professor at the University of Science and Technology of China, and a member of the New York Stock Exchange's International Advisory Committee.

William J. AMELIO

William J. Amelio is president and CEO of Lenovo Group Limited. Mr. Amelio joined Lenovo from Dell Inc. where since 2001 he served as senior vice president, Asia-Pacific and Japan, with responsibility for strategy and operations across the region. During his tenure, sales more than doubled in the region and service levels improved significantly, as measured by third-party customer satisfaction metrics. From 2000 until 2001, Mr. Amelio was executive vice president and chief operating officer of NCR Corporation's Retail and Financial Group, one of its two businesses.
From 1997 to 2000, Mr. Amelio was with Honeywell International Inc. and its predecessor, AlliedSignal Inc., where he was president and CEO of Honeywell’s transportation and power-systems divisions, and head of the turbocharging-systems business at Allied Signal. Under Mr. Amelio, the turbocharging-systems business doubled in revenues to more than $1 billion, implemented Six Sigma and SAP, and successfully integrated acquisitions. From 1979 to 1997, Mr. Amelio was with IBM, where he held a wide range of senior management positions, including general manager of Operations for IBM’s Personal Computing Division.
Mr. Amelio has a master's degree in Management from Stanford University and a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Lehigh University.

Deepak ADVANI

Deepak Advani is senior vice president, E-Commerce, and chief marketing officer of Lenovo. Previously, he was the vice president of marketing for IBM’s Personal Computing Division. His experience includes a strong blend of technology and business. With IBM for 12 years, Mr. Advani was part of the team that built a $1 billion supercomputer business in four years; and, as the vice president of Strategy and Market Development, he crafted IBM’s early strategies around Linux. He was the general manager for the high-end Intel server business, where, under his leadership, IBM went from third in market share to first in two years.
Mr. Advani has a bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Michigan State University and a master’s degree in Computer Engineering from Wright State University, as well as an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He is on the advisory board at Michigan State University. He has lectured at several universities on the topics of business strategy, brand management, and personal leadership.

Christopher J. ASKEW

Christopher J. Askew is senior vice president, Lenovo Services. Before joining Lenovo, Mr. Askew was at Dell Inc., where since 1999 he served as vice president, Dell Services, Asia-Pacific and Japan. In this role he oversaw 2,500 employees across 38 countries and his responsibilities included Services sales and marketing, Professional Services, Managed Services, Field Service delivery and logistics, and Technical Support. During his leadership, revenue grew from $60 million to $1 billion.
From 1998 to 1999, Mr. Askew worked at Compaq Computer, where he served from as vice president and general manager, Compaq Customer Services. Before that he served as director, Compaq Customer Services, for Asia-Pacific and Japan after Compaq acquired Tandem Computers.
Prior to that, Mr. Askew was at Tandem Computers. From 1995 to 1998 he was vice president, Tandem Consulting, Integration and Services, at Tandem Computers Asia-Pacific. Prior to that, he served numerous assignments at Tandem Computers Europe, culminating as general manager, EMEA Channel Support.
From 1980 to 1988, Mr. Askew worked at the Bank of England. There he served in a wide range of assignments culminating with shift manager, operations.

Kenneth DIPIETRO

Kenneth DiPietro is senior vice president, Human Resources. Mr. DiPietro brings more than 25 years of experience to Lenovo in both human resources and organizational development. Prior to joining Lenovo, he served as a full-time HR consultant to the Lenovo executive staff. Most recently, he served as the corporate vice president, Human Resources, at Microsoft Corporation. In that role, he was responsible for developing strategies and programs to enhance staffing, compensation, benefits, executive development, diversity, and workplace culture for Microsoft worldwide.
Before joining Microsoft in 2003, Mr. DiPietro was vice president of human resources for the Americas at Dell Inc., where he was responsible for all people planning, compensation, staffing, training and executive development. Among his many accomplishments at Dell, he led their efforts to more closely align the company’s HR organization with its business goals and helped transform Dell’s approach to leadership development and talent management.
As senior vice president for human resources at PepsiCo, Mr. DiPietro was responsible for an organization that spanned more than 160 countries across 10 business units. While at PepsiCo, he architected and led a business restructuring effort that provided a platform for business turnaround. His responsibilities at PepsiCo encompassed many different functions, including international compensation and benefits, staffing, education and development, and organization planning.
Mr. DiPietro holds a bachelor’'s of science degree in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University. He is a member of the Center for Advanced Human Resources at Cornell and the Labor Policy Association, is active in various programs directed toward at-risk youth and is an avid cyclist and tri-athlete.

Cuong Viet DO

Cuong Viet Do is chief strategy officer of Lenovo. Mr. Do joined Lenovo after 17 years at McKinsey & Company, where he was Director and senior partner. During his tenure at McKinsey, he consulted with leading companies in 18 countries and four continents on issues involving strategy, sales and marketing, operations, and corporate finance. At McKinsey, he was a leader in the Corporate Finance and High Tech Practices, a role in which he was involved in dozens of international transactions valued at greater than $30 billion. He also has extensive experience in helping companies improve business performance through improvements in operational efficiency, sales and marketing, divestitures and acquisitions. Mr. Do also helped build McKinsey’s Marketing and Healthcare practices during the earlier stages of his career.
Mr. Do has a bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry and Economics from Dartmouth College and a master’s degree in Business Administration from the Tuck School of Business Administration, where he now serves on the MBA Board. He also serves on the boards of several non-profit groups, including Celebrate the Children, a school for autistic children, and the National Youth Science Foundation.

Milko Van DUIJL

Milko Van Duijl is president, Lenovo Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and senior vice-president, Lenovo Group. Previous to this, starting in May 2005, he held the position of the general manager, Lenovo Europe, Middle East, Africa.
Mr. Van Duijl held the previous role of vice president, IBM Personal Computing Division EMEA from August 2003 to May 1, 2005. Under his leadership, IBM PCD EMEA achieved a significant turnaround, increased share in its markets and drove profitable growth.
As a result of 16 years in IBM, Milko Van Duijl developed diverse expertise across many areas of the Technology Business, and especially in the software and hardware markets.
He fulfilled many roles in multiple geographies and in 1998 transferred to the IBM European Headquarters in Paris where he led one of IBM's software brands for EMEA as vice president for Tivoli EMEA.
Mr. Van Duijl’s career began in the Netherlands in 1989, as a European sales representative for Philips Electronics, Europe before being appointed as the Software Group executive for the Netherlands. Prior to IBM, Mr. Van Duijl was employed by Andersen Consulting and held positions in London, Chicago and Amsterdam.
Mr. Van Duijl holds a doctorandus title / MBA from the University of Rotterdam, a BBA from the University of Nijenrode, is fluent in Dutch and English and proficient in French and German. He currently resides in Paris.

David MILLER

David D. Miller is president of Asia Pacific and senior vice president of Lenovo Group. In this position, Mr. Miller has responsibility for all customer-facing business in the Asia Pacific region, including sales, marketing, operations, and service and support, as well as full profit-and-loss responsibility.
Before joining Lenovo, Mr. Miller was at Dell Inc. since 1999, where he served most recently as president of Dell China/Hong Kong. He had responsibility for all aspects of the operation, which had 5,000 employees and $2 billion in annual revenue, and in less than a year he took Dell from fourth to third in market share for China/Hong Kong. Prior to that, he was vice president and managing director of Dell Australia, where he doubled revenue and tripled operating profits for the Australia/New Zealand region. Before that he was director of the Industry Solutions Group, where he increased revenue 35 percent, and as director of Large Corporate Accounts before that, where he oversaw a $1.5 billion sales organization.
From 1987 to 1999, Mr. Miller was vice president of sales at Wyle Electronics, where he managed all aspects of Wyle System’s three sales divisions and increased revenue by 25 percent in his final year. Before that he was director of sales/support operations, where he grew Wyle’s market share from tenth to first worldwide. Prior to that he was a division manager, where in three years he increased revenue 83 percent.
Mr. Miller holds a bachelor of science degree in agriculture business from California Polytechnic State University.

Michael O'NEILL

Michael O'Neill is senior vice president and general counsel, and has worldwide oversight for the company's legal, corporate governance, security and government relations activities. Prior to joining Lenovo, Mr. O'Neill was a partner at Howrey LLP, where he led the firm's international business and opened its Brussels office.
Mr. O'Neill worked at Honeywell for 16 years in variety of roles, culminating as vice president and general counsel for Transportation and Power Systems. Before that he served as vice president and general counsel for Europe, Middle East and Africa. Earlier roles included serving as vice president and associate general counsel for Corporate and Human Resources and assistant general for Government Business and Technology Centers. In addition to his legal roles, he served as vice president of Global Contract Management for 10 years. Prior to joining Honeywell, he served as in-house counsel at Westinghouse at the Defense & Electronics Center.
Mr. O'Neill holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Belmont Abbey College, both a law degree and an MBA from the University of Baltimore, and a master's degree in Government Contracting from George Washington University. He also has served on various boards, most recently that of TRW International.

Frances K. O'SULLIVAN

Frances K. (Fran) O’Sullivan is senior vice president, Product Group, with worldwide responsibility for all Think-, IBM- and Lenovo-branded desktops, notebooks, displays, options and services. Most recently, she was senior vice president and COO of Lenovo International (the operations of the former IBM Personal Computing Division). Previously, she was general manager of IBM's PC Division.
Ms. O’Sullivan was with IBM for 24 years, the last 21 of them in the personal computer business. She began her career with IBM with an assignment to NASA’s Space Shuttle Program at Cape Kennedy, Florida. She then transferred to IBM’s PC Division and gained engineering and management expertise in development, manufacturing, procurement, and technical and business operations. Her long association with the PC Division includes general management of ThinkPad worldwide operations, leading ThinkPad worldwide development, consumer desktop development, and, most recently, developing and executing the Think strategy. Ms. O’Sullivan graduated from the University of Virginia with a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and serves on the University of Virginia Engineering Industry Advisory Board.

Rory Read is senior vice president, Operations, of Lenovo Group Limited. Mr. Read’s role focuses on Lenovo's management system and the day-to-day operation of the business processes.
Before joining Lenovo, Mr. Read had a successful 23-year career at IBM, where he held numerous key executive positions. Most recently he was managing partner for the Global Industrial Sector of Business Consulting Services. In that role, he was responsible for global sales and delivery execution of the Industrial Sector's consulting services business, driving significant growth in customer satisfaction, business signings, revenue and profit. Mr. Read’s leadership roles have focused on transforming organizations into Internet-focused businesses. This includes serving as executive of Global Business Transformation and Information Technology for IBM’s $45 billion Global Services business. He also was vice president, IBM e-business Transformation IBM.com, where he was responsible for defining and implementing the IBM.com e-business strategy and execution, a business team that produced more than $1 billion in company-wide savings and $21 billion in sales.
Mr. Read worked in IBM’s Asia Pacific region as general manager of Business Innovation Services (BIS) for Asia Pacific and vice president of Global BIS Industrial Sector. In these roles, Mr. Read achieved double-digit growth in year-to-year business as well as the successful integration of Asia Pacific Business Consulting Services.
Mr. Read has a bachelor’s degree in Information Systems from Hartwick College.

David SCHMOOCK

David Schmoock is senior vice president, Center of Excellence, of Lenovo Group. Mr. Schmoock oversees the Center of Excellence, an organizational hub that manages critical business and customer activities including supply/demand forecasting, pricing, sales and product mix strategies in each region, and inventory management.
Before joining Lenovo, Mr. Schmoock was at Dell Inc. since 1997, where he served most recently as vice president of marketing for Asia-Pacific/Japan. In this role he oversaw the marketing, sales and support staff of 450 that helped Dell increase market share in notebooks, desktops and servers over three years. Prior to that, Mr. Schmoock was director of the Americas Center of Competency where he helped develop go-to-market strategies that contributed to market leadership in notebooks, servers and desktops. Before that he was senior manager, Latitude brand management, where he helped increase market share to double the nearest competitor. Before that, he was senior manager of notebook operations.
From 1988 to 1996, Mr. Schmoock worked at Xerox Corporation. There he served in a wide range of assignments including pricing, sales strategy and market analysis.
Mr. Schmoock holds a bachelor of arts degree in Political Science from Columbia University. He also served in the United States Army.

CHEN Shaopeng

Chen Shaopeng is president of Lenovo Greater China and senior vice president of Lenovo Group. In this role, he is responsible for marketing, sales, services and operations throughout China.
Since he joined Lenovo Group in 1993, Mr. Chen has advanced through numerous leadership positions in sales, marketing and channel management, and has consistently achieved outstanding results.
As Lenovo Group's vice president of Marketing Systems, Mr. Chen effectively planned and implemented customer oriented marketing models and strategic structural reforms. He divided the original seven large regions into 18 smaller regions, and cemented front line command and management of regional marketing. These reforms greatly enhanced Lenovo’s ability to provide dedicated service to customers and align products and services to meet customer needs.
As Lenovo Group's vice president of Lenovo China Sales Systems, Mr. Chen successfully launched a new integrated distribution strategy, upgraded the channel system, developed Lenovo’s core competitiveness, and drove record growth for the company.
Mr. Chen graduated in 1992 from Beijing Technology and Business University with a bachelor of Engineering in Computer and Applications. In 2004, he received an EMBA from Tsinghua University.

Gerry P. SMITH

Gerry P. Smith is senior vice president, Global Supply Chain, of Lenovo. He oversees the company’s global procurement, logistics, fulfillment and sales support, supply planning, strategy and manufacturing operations.
Before joining Lenovo, Mr. Smith was at Dell Inc. since 1994, where he served most recently as vice president and general manager of the Display Line of Business. In that role he was responsible for all development, procurement and operations worldwide for this unit with $8 billion annual revenue. Concurrently, he led the startup of the Singapore Design Centre and managed its integrated global supply chain. Prior to that, he was vice president of the Worldwide Peripherals Development and Procurement Group, where he helped define and operate the company’s industry-leading global supply chain. Before that he served numerous management assignments, including: vice president and general manager of the Inspiron notebook division, where he led the marketing, design, operations and procurement for consumer notebooks; director of Peripheral Development; director of Storage Procurement; and numerous marketing assignments.
From 1987 to 1993, Mr. Smith worked at Definicon, where he managed sales, marketing, procurement and operations of this technology start-up. Prior to Definicon, Mr. Smith worked as a financial analyst with EDS.
Mr. Smith holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance and Marketing from Pacific Lutheran University.

Wong Wai Ming is senior vice president and chief financial officer of Lenovo. Prior to his current role, Mr. Wong was an independent non-executive director of the company since 1999. He has more than 15 years of experience in investment banking and was a member of the Listing Committee of the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong, Limited. Mr. Wong holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Sciences from the Victoria University of Manchester, U.K. He is a member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

Yibing Wu is chief transformation officer at Lenovo. In this role, Mr. Wu is responsible for designing and implementing process and organizational changes and overseeing key strategic initiatives. Before taking his current role, Mr. Wu was chief strategy officer, where he led the company’s initial business integration effort immediately following the acquisition of IBM’s Personal Computing Division, and also played an important role in the strategy development and negotiation of the transaction. Before joining Lenovo, he was the managing director of McKinsey & Company’s Beijing office. While at McKinsey, he worked with a wide range of high tech and telecommunications industry clients, including Legend Group. Earlier in his career, he worked as a technology licensing consultant at Harvard University. Mr. Wu holds a bachelor’s of science degree from the University of Science and Technology of China and a doctorate from Harvard University.

Liu Zhijun is senior vice president, Mobile Business Unit. He has been responsible for Lenovo’s handheld device division since 2000, and for the company’s mobile communication technology unit since 2002. Since joining Lenovo in 1989, he has built extensive expertise in the research, development, production, marketing, corporate operation and management of the mobile handset business as well as in PC sales, subsidiary company management and foreign brand product distribution. He holds a master's degree in Computational Mechanics from Dalian University of Technology.

He Zhiqiang (George) is senior vice president and chief technology officer. He is responsible for corporate research and development systems and product chain (research and development) management and oversees the company's research centers in Beijing, China; Raleigh, North Carolina; and Yamato, Japan. Previously, Mr. He was senior vice president, Research and Technology, and the managing director of Lenovo's corporate Research and Development, during which he made significant contributions to Lenovo's R&D initiatives and systems. He joined Lenovo in 1986 after graduating from the Institute of Computing Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences with a master's degree in Computer Science.
